Why can’t the lock connect to WiFi?
The pairing failed because the phone did not join the lock's Wi-Fi module within the required time. Once the Wi-Fi module's activation period expires, the lock automatically exits pairing mode to save power.Operation Process:
- Enter Menu: Press 1# → Enter your Administrator Password.
- Reactivate WiFi Module: Press 1 (Administrator Setting) → Press 3 (WiFi Connection) to restart the pairing window.
The latch direction is wrong. How can I change it?
- Press1 + # → enter the administrator password
- Press 3 to enter system settings
- Press 4 to enter "Door Opening Direction" settings
- Select the direction according to the voice prompts.
Why does the front lock work but the inside lock does not?
- Reason: During installation, the metal rod (spindle) of the front lock was not fully aligned with the latch and back motor, or was not inserted vertically.
- Solution: Reinstall the lock according to the instructions. Ensure the square spindle is fully inserted and the back motor (inside mechanism) is positioned correctly.
How do I set the auto-lock time?
- Press 1 + # → Enter the administrator password
- Press 3 to enter system settings
- Press 6 to enter "Auto-Lock" settings
- Press 1 to start and select the time according to the voice prompts: 5s, 10s, 15s, 30s, or 60s.
How can I add fingerprints, PINs, or cards locally on the lock?
- Press 1 + # → Enter administrator password
- Press 2 to enter [General User Settings]
Select:
- Press 1 to add a user (supports password/fingerprint, follow voice prompts for registration)
- Press 2 to delete a user
Note:
It is recommended that users connect to Wi-Fi and use the SMART LIFE App to add and delete users (for a clearer experience and more convenient management).
Why is fingerprint recognition inaccurate or has a low success rate?
Reason:
- Your finger is too dry, too wet, or greasy.
- The fingerprint entry was incomplete (e.g., only the center was recorded, but not the edges/sides).
- There is dirt or residue on the surface of the fingerprint module.
Solution:
- Clean the fingerprint area with a soft, dry cloth.
- Re-register the fingerprint: Ensure you record multiple angles and press your finger several times during the entry process to cover the entire surface of your fingertip.
Why does the lock show low battery or lose power frequently?
Reason:
- Using standard batteries with a short lifespan.
- Poor battery contact at the terminals.
- High power consumption caused by heavy motor strain due to tight installation.
Solution:
- Use alkaline batteries and avoid low-quality brands with unstable voltage.
- Check if the battery contact springs are firmly compressed.
- Ensure the latch does not rub against the door frame.
- Consider using rechargeable lithium batteries as a replacement.
Why does the lock feel stuck or fail to lock?
Reason:
- The door panel is tilted or misaligned.
- The strike plate hole position is offset.
Solution:
- Adjust the panel to ensure it is level and horizontal.
- Reposition the strike plate on the door frame to ensure smooth operation.
- Check if the latch is rubbing or scraping against the frame.
Why is the app control slow or delayed?
Network Connection: A poor network connection can cause significant lag when updating settings or sending commands via the app.Solution: Ensure your lock has a strong, stable Wi-Fi signal to minimize latency and ensure smooth operation.
Why does the lock make noise when opening the door?
Reason: The noise is usually caused by mechanical friction from a misaligned latch or mounting screws that are either too tight or too loose, creating internal tension.Solution:
- Check System Settings: Press 1# → Admin Password → 3 (System Setting) → 4 (Door Opening Direction). Ensure the setting matches your door's physical swing.
- Adjust Strike Plate: Slightly reposition or file the strike plate on the door frame to ensure the latch enters the hole smoothly without rubbing.
- Calibrate Screws: Check the mounting screws on the internal panel. If they are over-tightened, loosen them slightly to allow the motor and gears to move freely.
