The R8 remote operates from up to 20 meters (about 66 feet) away in suitable, unobstructed conditions, with a target battery life of more than two years.
Actual range varies with obstacles, interference, and environmental conditions. Remote battery-life figures are pre-launch development targets and must be validated in final production testing.

Will R8 fit my current RV door?
R8 is designed for common travel trailer, camping trailer, and fifth-wheel doors with an opening around 2.75 × 3.75 inches and a 1.5-inch door thickness. It is not for glass doors. Always measure before ordering.
Can I use R8 without my phone?
You can also unlock with a keypad passcode, the remote, or the mechanical key.
Can I unlock it over Wi-Fi while I am away?
No. R8 uses local Bluetooth connectivity and does not support Wi-Fi remote access.
What does the third interior lock do?
Once the third mechanical lock is engaged from inside, exterior access methods cannot open the door. It must be released from inside.
Is a left-hinge version available?
The initial R8 release is available for right-hinged doors only. Confirm your door orientation before ordering.
When will R8 launch?
Expected launch: late September–early October 2026. Website orders and preorders are currently closed. Follow SAWHERO for launch updates.
